Warrington was educated at Owens College Manchester, and took his medical degree in 1891. He later studied at Leipzig University. His professional career was spent in Liverpool, where he was a honorary assistant physician at Liverpool Royal Infirmary and physician at the David Lewis Northern Hospital. He also lectured in neuropathology and clinical medicine at Liverpool University.
