Walker graduated in medicine at the University of Manchester in 1921. She held posts in Liverpool and Manchester hospitals, and took the DMRE from Liverpool in 1928. She was a radiologist at the Duchess of York Hospital for Babies, Manchester and at the Sir A. Jones Memorial Hospital, Garston, Liverpool. Walker also lectured in radiology at Liverpool University.
