Rabey took the BDS from Sydney University and the MS BS from the University of London in 1961. He was a former senior lecturer in anatomy at the University of Manchester. Rabey was a consultant at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Aylesbury, and a former visiting professor of plastic surgery at the University of Pittsburgh.
