Sayle-Creer gained his medical education at the University of Liverpool and held junior appointments in the department of orthopaedics at Liverpool Royal Infirmary. In 1935 Sayle-Creer spent a year as a clinical assistant in Boston and New York, before returned to continue his orthopaedic career in Manchesrer. He held senior orthopaedic positions at Salford Royal Hospital, Ashton-under-Lyne and Booth Hall Hospital and held various other honorary appointments. In the 1940s, Sayle-Creer was appointed surgeon in charge of orthopaedics to Salford Group of Hospital. He was also honorary clinical lecturer in orthopaedics at the University of Manchester. Sayle-Creer was a fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine.
