Administrative / Biographical History

Railton studied medicine at Manchester Royal School of Medicine and took the MRCS in 1869, followed by the FRCS in 1872 and the MB London in 1873. He received MD in 1882. Railton was an assistant physician at Manchester Northern hospital, and a MOH for Withington Urban District. He was a member of Manchester Medical Society, Pathological Society and Clinical Society, and wrote a number of papers on various medical subjects.
